Megaman X

Megaman X was one of my favorite SNES games growing up.  The music for all the games was SO GOOD, and X was no exception.  Even now, 2 and X remain to be my top two favorites of the series.

This is what most of my pictures look like when I start to color them.  I'm posting this because I still stand by my desire to show the world how awesome crayons are -- specifically Crayola.  (Don't go buying that other non-name brand crap or you'll be disappointed!)

Aaaand the finished product!  There are at least 3-4 layers of colors throughout.  So much fun!  I used to squirm at the thought of finishing my art with any colors because I had no confidence in myself.  But because they're so easy and cheap (making them easy to replace so I don't have to feel like I'm wasting materials if I mess up), crayons have CHANGED MY artistic LIFE.

Here's some more Crayon work with some white acrylic!

Happy Monday!

Go see The Dark Knight Rises!

I really enjoyed the new Batman movie.  I enjoyed it enough to draw this picture of Catwoman without the blue background I was planning (hence the color on her face).  I'll finish it someday maybe!

I also made this Batman cardboard thing!

And then I drew all the male Robins - Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, and Damien!

Happy Batman-ing!  Here's a semi-famous Mogwai that'll keep you company.

Little Owl's Tuxedo Adventure

Last weekend I went to a friend's wedding.  Right now I'm going to gush a little bit about how lucky I felt when I got to walk around with this guy:

It was a ton of fun, and I'm so glad I got to go.  Especially because it meant seeing Jason dressed up all nice and handsome like.
Commence: squeeeeeee

In other news-
I sketched Lightning Helix art on my roommate's new cardbox!

I promised a customer back in May that I'd draw him a small picture of Daredevil.  Because he had to wait so long, I put some extra effort into it.  I'm nice like that.

PortCon 2012: Year of the Apples

I can't express enough how much fun I had at PortCon this year.   I surprised Jason with a Rarity costume and had several chances to take breaks from working and relax with him.  It's a pleasure seeing my friends at the event, and the Artists' Alley/Info Desk art war is always a highlight of the weekend.

In a couple of days I get to attend a wedding with Jason in a tux.  I've already seen a preview of it and boy oh boy, is it the cutest thing ever?  Yes, yes it is.
